I can help on the question of whether this is a Peel session or not.

The original tapes for many BBC radio sessions from the 60s and 70s have not survived. These recordings seem to be rebroadcasts from a radio show called Top of the Pops which was syndicated by the BBC in the US (Drummond says the name of the show just before Waterloo Sunset). The show basically compiled session performances and interviews (i.e. it was sort of "Best of Radio One").

This session has presumably survived because multiple copies of TOTP would have been made and sent out to various stations in the US.

Glad to be of service!
